Ingredients
Scale
Salmon:
- 1 lb salmon, skin removed
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
- ⅛ tsp salt
- Pinch of pepper
Bang Bang Sauce:
- ½ cup Kewpie mayo
- 3 tbsp Thai chili sauce
- 1½ tbsp sriracha
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp rice vinegar
Instructions
- Prepare the Salmon: Cut the salmon into bite-sized pieces. Place them in a bowl and add the sesame oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Toss well until each piece is evenly coated with the seasoning.
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 400°F (204°C). Once preheated, lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Air Fry the Salmon Bites: Arrange the salmon bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding to ensure even cooking. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to promote crispness. The salmon should be cooked through with crispy edges.
- Make the Bang Bang Sauce: While the salmon cooks, whisk together the Kewpie mayo, Thai chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and rice vinegar in a bowl until smooth and well combined.
- Serve: Once the salmon bites are done, transfer to a serving dish, drizzle generously with the bang bang sauce, and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately with your favorite sides and enjoy!
Notes
- Adjust the amount of sriracha to control the heat level, using less for milder flavor or more for extra spice.
- If rice vinegar isn’t available, substitute with apple cider vinegar or mirin for a similar tang.
- Ensure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket for the crispiest results.
- Using Kewpie mayo adds an authentic creamy taste, but regular mayo can be substituted.
