Description
These adorable Bat Oreos are a fun and spooky treat perfect for Halloween or any themed party. Made by transforming classic double-stuffed Oreos with chocolate and candy eyes, they’re simple to prepare and sure to delight both kids and adults with their creative bat wing design.
Ingredients
Scale
Bat Oreos
- 15 Double Stuf Oreos
- 1/2 cup chocolate wafers
- 20 candy eyeballs
Instructions
- Prepare the Bat Wings: Take 5 of the Oreos and carefully cut each in half. Separate the halves and scrape off the cream filling. Each Oreo half will be used to create 4 ‘bat wings.’ Take two Oreo halves and insert them into the cream filling of a whole Oreo, pressing down gently to secure the wings in place.
- Melt the Chocolate: Place the chocolate wafers in a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 20 seconds at a time, stirring well between sessions until fully melted and smooth.
- Coat with Chocolate: Using a spoon, scoop a small amount of melted chocolate and spread it evenly over the top of each Oreo, covering the surface thoroughly.
- Add Eyes: Gently press two candy eyeballs onto the chocolate surface of each Oreo to resemble bat eyes.
- Set the Chocolate: Place the decorated Oreos in the refrigerator or freezer until the chocolate is fully set and firm.
- Storage: Store the finished Bat Oreos in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep them fresh.
Notes
- To transform these into Oreo pops, insert lollipop sticks into the cream filling before dipping the Oreos in melted chocolate.
- Be gentle when inserting wings and eyes to avoid breaking the Oreos.
- This recipe is perfect for Halloween parties and can be made a day ahead for convenience.
