Ingredients
Scale
Meat and Seasonings
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
Pasta
- 16 ounces uncooked pasta (such as elbow macaroni or shells)
Cheese Sauce
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup milk
Instructions
- Cook Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Brown Ground Beef: While the pasta cooks, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until fully browned and no longer pink. Drain excess grease and return the beef to the pan.
- Add Cheese and Seasonings: To the browned beef, add cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, salt, and onion powder. Stir continuously over medium heat until the cheeses melt and combine smoothly with the meat.
- Make the Sauce: Gradually pour the milk into the skillet while stirring constantly. Continue to cook and stir until the sauce is creamy and slightly thickened.
- Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and stir thoroughly to coat the pasta evenly with the cheesy sauce. Cook for an additional minute to heat through.
- Serve: Remove from heat and serve immediately. Enjoy your comforting cheeseburger pasta!
Notes
- To increase the sauciness, either reduce the amount of pasta used or double the quantities of cream cheese, cheddar, and milk for a richer sauce.
- Feel free to use different types of cheese like mozzarella or pepper jack for a flavor twist.
- For a lower-fat version, substitute cream cheese and cheddar with reduced-fat varieties and use lean ground turkey or chicken instead of beef.
