Description

A mouthwatering recipe featuring juicy chicken breasts seasoned with ranch and topped with crispy bacon and melted mozzarella cheese, perfect for a flavorful and satisfying dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat and Poultry

  • 4 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 1 3/4 lbs.)

Seasonings and Spices

  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tsp ranch seasoning

Dairy

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella

Instructions

  1. Cook bacon: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook bacon, flipping once, until crispy, about 8 minutes. Transfer the cooked bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease. Pour off all but 2 tablespoons of the bacon fat from the skillet.
  2. Season chicken: Season the chicken breasts generously with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper on both sides. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning evenly over the chicken to infuse flavor.
  3. Cook chicken: Return the skillet with reserved bacon fat to medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook them until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side depending on thickness. Use a meat thermometer to ensure internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  4. Add cheese and bacon: Once chicken is cooked, reduce heat to low. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella evenly over each chicken breast, then crumble the cooked bacon on top of the cheese.
  5. Melt cheese: Cover the skillet with a lid and cook on low heat for 2-3 minutes, or until the mozzarella melts and becomes bubbly.
  6. Serve: Remove the skillet from heat. Let the chicken rest for a couple of minutes before serving to allow juices to redistribute. Serve hot for a delicious cheesy bacon ranch chicken meal.

Notes

  • Use thick-cut bacon for extra flavor and crispness.
  • You can substitute ranch seasoning with your favorite ranch dressing mix.
  • Make sure not to overcook the chicken to keep it juicy.
  • If you prefer, broil the skillet at the end to melt the cheese quickly and add extra browning.
  • Serve with a side of vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
