Chicken Mixture
- 1 lb boneless, skinless cooked and shredded chicken
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons oregano
Crescent Rolls
- 2 packages crescent rolls (8 count packages)
Sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 10.5 oz cream of chicken soup
- 10.5 oz milk (use soup can as measure)
Instructions
- Prepare Chicken Mixture: In a bowl, combine the cooked and shredded chicken with ½ cup of shredded mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle garlic powder and oregano over the mixture, stirring well to coat all the chicken evenly with the seasonings.
- Stuff Crescent Rolls: Unroll each crescent roll carefully. Place about ⅓ cup of the chicken cheese mixture near the wide end of each crescent. Slowly roll up the crescent, encasing the filling inside. Repeat with all crescent rolls until the filling is used up.
- Arrange in Baking Pan: Place all stuffed crescent rolls in a 9×13 inch baking pan, arranging them side by side to fit comfortably.
- Make Cheese Sauce: On the stovetop, heat the remaining ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese, the cream of chicken soup, and milk together. Stir constantly until the mixture is melted, smooth, and warm.
- Pour Sauce Over Crescents: Pour the warm cheese and soup mixture evenly over the crescent rolls in the baking pan, making sure all rolls are coated.
- Bake: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the dish for 30 to 40 minutes until the crescent rolls are golden brown on top and the sauce is bubbly.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Serve warm and enjoy this delicious cheesy chicken bake.
Notes
- Use cooked chicken from leftover roasted or grilled chicken for ease.
- Ensure the crescent rolls are sealed tightly to avoid filling leakage during baking.
- The sauce can be made smoother by whisking continuously while heating.
- Leftovers can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes to the chicken mixture.
