For the Banana Bars:

- 1 cup (120 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup (150 g) light brown sugar
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1 cup mashed bananas (about 2 medium bananas)
- 2 teaspoons (10 ml) vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup (128 g) mini chocolate chips, divided
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and line an 8×8 (20 cm) pan with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter: Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl for 1 minute, cool for 10-15 minutes.
- Combine dry ingredients: Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Mix wet ingredients: Whisk cooled butter with sugar, then add egg, bananas, and vanilla.
- Combine wet and dry: Stir in dry ingredients, then fold in chocolate chips.
- Bake: Spread batter in the pan, top with more chocolate chips, and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- Cool and slice: Cool completely, then slice and enjoy!
