Ingredients
Scale
Cookies
- 15 Oreo Cookies
Chocolate and Decorations
- 6 oz White Melting Chips
- 3 oz Green Melting Wafers
- 15 Candy Stars tree toppers
- 1/4 cup Chocolate Jimmies (optional, for tree trunk)
Instructions
- Prepare the Pan: Line a pan with parchment paper and set it aside to keep your cookies from sticking during decorating.
- Melt White Chocolate: Place the white melting chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 30 seconds, then stir. Repeat heating and stirring until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
- Dip Oreos: Dip each Oreo cookie halfway into the melted white chocolate. Place each dipped cookie on the prepared parchment-lined pan to set.
- Melt Green Chocolate: In a separate microwave-safe bowl, melt the green melting wafers by heating for 30 seconds then stirring. Repeat this process until fully melted and smooth.
- Decorate Trees: Transfer the melted green chocolate to a piping bag or a zippered plastic bag. Cut a very small opening at the corner of the bag for precise decorating. Using a back-and-forth motion, draw a Christmas tree shape on the white chocolate portion of each Oreo cookie.
- Add Tree Toppers and Trunk: Place a candy star on the top of each green tree. Use the chocolate jimmies to create the tree trunk below the green decoration. Allow all decorated cookies to set completely before serving.
Notes
- If using white chocolate chips instead of melting wafers, add 1 teaspoon of shortening to help with melting, though it will take longer to harden.
- To create green chocolate using white chocolate chips, you will need to add green food coloring.
- Feel free to get creative with different designs and decorations on the Oreo cookies.
- You can fully dip each Oreo in melted white chocolate if preferred for full coverage.
- If melting chocolates seem too thick, add a small amount of shortening to thin the consistency.
- Using a piping bag or a zippered bag with a small corner cut off allows for better control during decorating.
