Description

This Crispy Hot Honey Feta Chicken recipe combines crispy, flavorful chicken breasts with a sweet and spicy hot honey drizzle and creamy feta cheese topping. It’s a delicious and satisfying dish that’s perfect for a special dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Hot Honey:

  • 1/3 cup / 110g Honey
  • 1 1/2 tsp Hot Sauce (such as Frank’s or Cholula)
  • 3/4 tsp Chilli Flakes

For the Chicken:

  • 2x 250g/9oz Chicken Breasts
  • 2 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 35g / 1/4 cup Plain Flour
  • 2 Eggs, beaten
  • 65g / 1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs
  • 6-8 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 200g / 7oz Feta, crumbled

Instructions

  1. Prepare Hot Honey: Combine honey, hot sauce, and chilli flakes, warm in microwave or on stovetop, then set aside to cool.
  2. Prepare Chicken: Slice chicken breasts horizontally, mix seasoning, dredge chicken in flour, egg, and breadcrumbs, then coat thoroughly.
  3. Cook Chicken: Fry chicken in oil until crispy and cooked through. Top with feta and grill until golden.
  4. Serve: Drizzle hot honey over chicken and enjoy!

Notes

  • Hot Honey: Adjust spiciness to taste by adding more chilli flakes or hot sauce after cooling.
  • Baking Option: Instructions provided for baking the chicken instead of frying.
  • Serving Suggestions: Serve with arugula and Potato Wedges or check out Side Dishes for more ideas.
  • Calories: Estimate may be slightly high due to coating not fully absorbed by chicken.
