Ingredients

Units Scale

Main Ingredients

    • 1 lb. lean hamburger
    • 1/4 c. old fashion oats
    • 1 1/2 c. shredded cheddar
    • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
    • 1/2 c. diced onions
    • 1/2 tsp. diced garlic
    • 2 tsp. Dijon mustard
    • 1 egg
    • Pinch of salt

Sauce

  • 1 c. favorite BBQ sauce

Instructions

  1. Mix the ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine all the ingredients except the BBQ sauce. Use your hands to mix everything thoroughly until well combined.
  2. Form meatballs: Shape the mixture into 24 golf ball-sized meatballs for uniform cooking.
  3. Brown the meatballs: Spray a large non-stick skillet and place it over medium-high heat. Add the meatballs to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on one side. Gently turn them over and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until lightly browned.
  4. Prepare the Crock Pot: Spray the bottom and sides of the Crock Pot with non-stick spray. Place the browned (but still mostly raw) meatballs inside.
  5. Add BBQ sauce: Pour your favorite BBQ sauce over the meatballs, ensuring each one is coated. Place the lid on the Crock Pot.
  6. Cook until tender: Cook the meatballs for 2 hours on high or 4 hours on low until fully cooked and tender.

Notes

  • This recipe works well for meal prep; simply refrigerate or freeze any leftovers.
  • You can choose your favorite BBQ sauce to customize the flavor profile—sweet, smoky, or spicy.
  • The recipe yields 24 meatballs, making it suitable for both small and larger gatherings.
  • For an even healthier twist, consider using ground turkey or chicken instead of beef.
