Banana Bread:
- 4 overripe bananas
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9×5 metal loaf pan; set aside.
- Mash bananas: In a small bowl, mash the bananas; set aside.
- Cream butter and sugars: In a large bowl, use a hand mixer to cream together butter and sugars until well combined and fluffy.
- Add wet ingredients: Add in the eggs, mashed banana, and vanilla; mix well.
- Combine dry ingredients: Sift the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt into the wet ingredients; fold in until just combined. Fold in 3/4 cup of chocolate chips.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the loaf pan, sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top. Bake for 50-60 minutes until set. Allow to cool before serving.
Notes
- Store at room temperature covered for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
- You can omit chocolate chips or use walnuts instead.
