Description

These Easy Pumpkin Pretzels are a fun and festive treat perfect for Halloween celebrations. Mini pretzels are dipped in creamy orange-colored white chocolate and topped with a green candy ‘stem’ to resemble pumpkins. Simple to make and delightful for both kids and adults.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 36 mini pretzels
  • ¾ cup white chocolate chips or orange candy melts
  • ½ tsp coconut oil or shortening (omit if using candy melts)
  • Orange food coloring
  • 36 green chocolate M&M candies

Instructions

  1. Prepare baking sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside to keep the pretzels from sticking during cooling.
  2. Melt chocolate: Place white chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe glass bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute, then let sit inside the microwave for an additional 1 minute. Stir gently, and if the chocolate isn’t fully melted, microwave again for 15 seconds. If using candy melts, do not add coconut oil. Add orange food coloring and stir gently until the chocolate is evenly colored.
  3. Dip pretzels: Using a dipping tool or fork, dip each mini pretzel into the orange melted chocolate, ensuring it is well coated. Tap the edge of the bowl gently to release any excess chocolate.
  4. Assemble pumpkins: Place each coated pretzel on the prepared baking sheet. Immediately press one green chocolate M&M candy sideways into the top indent of each pretzel to resemble the pumpkin stem.
  5. Set the chocolate: Allow the pretzels to cool and the chocolate to firm up for 30 to 60 minutes at room temperature. You can also refrigerate them briefly to speed up the process.
  6. Repeat: Continue the dipping and assembling process with all pretzels, reheating the chocolate gently as needed to maintain a smooth consistency.

Notes

  • These pumpkin pretzels make an excellent treat for Halloween parties or as a festive snack for kids.
  • If the chocolate hardens while dipping, reheat it in short bursts to keep it smooth.
  • You can substitute green candy-coated chocolates if green M&Ms are unavailable.
  • For quicker setting, refrigerate the pretzels but ensure they are covered to avoid condensation.
  • Use shortening instead of coconut oil if preferred, as it helps with smoother melting.
