Description

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/3 cup (39 g) Dutch-processed cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 4 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 cups (400 g) granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks / 170 g) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

FRENCH SILK FILLING

  • 4.4 ounces dark chocolate, melted and cooled
  • 1 cup (2 sticks / 227 g) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups (300 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons Dutch-processed cocoa powder
  • 4 large eggs, room temperature

WHIPPED TOPPING

  • 1 cup (238 g) heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup (31 g) confectioners’ sugar

Instructions

  1. BROWNIES – Preheat oven, whisk dry ingredients, mix wet ingredients, combine, bake, and cool.
  2. FRENCH SILK FILLING – Melt chocolate, beat butter and sugar, add chocolate, mix in vanilla and cocoa, add eggs, beat until smooth and shiny.
  3. WHIPPED TOPPING – Whip cream until soft peaks form, add sugar, whip until firm peaks.
  4. ASSEMBLING BROWNIES – Pour filling over cooled brownies, top with whipped cream, refrigerate.
