Pasta:
- 8 ounces (225 g) dried pasta such as spaghetti, linguine, or any other long or short pasta
Garlic Butter Sauce:
- 4 tablespoons (52 g) unsalted butter, divided
- 3 cloves garlic, sliced
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (43 g) grated parmesan
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Boil water in a saucepot, salt it, add pasta, and cook until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
- Prepare the Sauce: In a skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter, saute garlic, add pasta and water, toss until saucy. Add remaining butter and cheese.
- Finish the Dish: Remove from heat, add parsley, toss, season with salt, and serve with additional parmesan.
Notes
- The recommended portion of pasta per person is 2-3oz (60-85 grams).
- Salt the water to cook the pasta just like sea water.
- You might not need to use all of the reserved pasta water, adjust as needed.
