Ingredients
Scale
Chicken Sliders
- 8 frozen chicken tenders
- 8 slider buns
- 8 slices Mozzarella cheese
- ¾ cup marinara sauce
- 16 green olives stuffed with pimento
Instructions
- Cook the chicken tenders: Remove the frozen chicken tenders from the freezer and cook them according to the package instructions until fully cooked and crispy.
- Prepare the cheese teeth: While the chicken tenders are cooking, use a paring knife to carefully cut the edges of each mozzarella slice into jagged ‘teeth’ shapes, creating a spooky effect.
- Make the olive monster eyes: Skewer two green olives per slider onto toothpicks to create the monster eyes that will be placed on top of the slider bun.
- Warm marinara sauce: Gently warm the marinara sauce over medium heat on the stovetop until it begins to simmer, keeping it ready for assembly.
- Assemble the sliders: Place about 1 tablespoon of warm marinara sauce on the bottom half of each slider bun. Add a hot cooked chicken tender on top of the sauce, then optionally add more marinara sauce. Place the prepared mozzarella cheese slice over the chicken, ensuring the ‘teeth’ are facing outward for effect. Top the slider with the bun top and skewer the two olive ‘eyes’ through the bun.
- Serve: Serve the sliders immediately while hot, perfect for Halloween gatherings and little goblins to enjoy.
Notes
- If you’re not a fan of chicken parmesan, try swapping the chicken with bacon, cheddar cheese, and BBQ sauce for a different flavor profile.
- For a spicy buffalo and blue cheese twist, replace the marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese with buffalo sauce, blue cheese crumbles, and add fresh jalapeño slices for extra heat.
- Carve the cheese slices ahead of time and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days to save prep time during your party.
- Prepare the olive eyes by skewering olives on toothpicks in advance and keep them refrigerated in an airtight container until ready to use.
