Chocolate Coating
- 12 oz candy melts (black, orange, and white colors recommended)
Crackers
- 20 Ritz Crackers (or as needed)
Instructions
- Melt the Candy: Place the candy melts into a microwave-safe bowl and melt them according to the package directions. Alternatively, microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each until fully smooth.
- Coat the Crackers: Dip each Ritz cracker into the melted candy melts, flipping to coat both sides thoroughly. Tap off any excess chocolate to avoid pooling.
- Set the Base Coating: Place the coated crackers on a piece of wax paper and allow the coating to set completely at room temperature or in the fridge.
- Decorate: Melt additional candy melts and pour into a piping bag or a ziplock bag with a small corner cut off. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the crackers to create Halloween-themed designs like spider webs, mummies, or pumpkins.
- Final Set: Let the decorated crackers sit until all the chocolate is solid and set. Then they are ready to serve or package.
Notes
- Approximately 1 oz of candy melts covers about 4 Ritz crackers, so melt extra as needed for additional crackers.
- Store finished Halloween crackers in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator to keep them fresh.
