Description

This Starbucks Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew recipe combines smooth cold brew coffee with a luscious homemade vanilla sweet cream. The cold brew is steeped slowly for 12 hours for a rich, mellow flavor, while the sweet cream blends milk, heavy cream, and homemade vanilla syrup for a creamy, sweet finish. Perfectly chilled and served over ice, this refreshing coffee drink is an indulgent cafe-style treat you can easily recreate at home.

Ingredients

Scale

Cold Brew Coffee

  • 16 ounces water
  • 1/2 cup coarsely ground coffee

Vanilla Sweet Cream

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup 2% milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cold Brew Coffee: Use either a French press or a large mason jar, adding the 16 ounces of water followed by 1/2 cup of coarsely ground coffee. Seal the container with a lid and refrigerate for at least 12 hours to allow the coffee to steep and develop a smooth flavor.
  2. Separate the Coffee: After steeping, if using a French press, press down the plunger to separate the grounds and pour off the brewed coffee. If using a mason jar, filter the coffee through a coffee filter to strain out the grounds. Store the cold brew coffee in the refrigerator until ready to use.
  3. Make Vanilla Syrup: Combine 2 cups sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar completely dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature, then stir in 1 tablespoon vanilla extract. Store the syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
  4. Prepare Vanilla Sweet Cream: In a small bowl, mix 1/2 cup 2% milk, 1/2 cup heavy cream, and 2 tablespoons of the prepared vanilla syrup. Stir well to combine. Store any unused sweet cream in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days.
  5. Assemble the Drink: Fill a tall glass with ice cubes. Pour in the cold brew coffee, then top with the vanilla sweet cream. Stir gently if desired and enjoy this smooth, creamy cold coffee beverage.

Notes

  • You will have extra vanilla syrup and sweet cream; store the syrup in the refrigerator where it will last about 2 weeks.
  • One tablespoon of vanilla syrup is a single serving; the syrup recipe yields about 20 servings.
  • Sweet cream stores in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days and yields about 8 servings at 2 tablespoons each.
  • A serving size refers to a single drink portion, not the total yield of syrup or cream.
