Big Mac Sloppy Joes
-
- 1/2 yellow onion, chopped
- 1 lb. lean ground beef (96/4)
- 1 tsp. yellow mustard
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. onion powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- Fresh cracked black pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup beef broth, split
- 1 tsp. corn starch mixed with 1/4 cup broth
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 5 slices American Cheese
- 5 Brioche hamburger buns
Big Mac Sauce
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise (60g)
- 1/4 cup ketchup (60g)
- 1/4 cup dill pickles, finely chopped
- 1 Tbsp. dill pickle juice
Instructions
- Cook the onions and beef: Spray a large skillet over medium heat with nonstick spray. Add the onions and ground beef, cooking and breaking the meat into smaller pieces until fully cooked through, approximately 5 minutes.
- Add seasonings and broth: Mix in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, stirring to coat the meat. Add the mustard and then stir in Worcestershire sauce along with 1/4 cup beef broth. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Thicken the mixture: Combine the cornstarch with the remaining 1/4 cup broth to form a slurry. Add this mixture to the skillet, stir, and let simmer for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Prepare the Big Mac Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise, ketchup, finely chopped dill pickles, and pickle juice. Stir until well combined and set aside.
- Assemble the burgers: Preheat the oven to broil. Lay the bottom buns on a baking sheet. Top each bun with 1 tbsp. (16g) sauce, shredded iceberg lettuce, 1/2 cup (103g) of the meat mixture, and a slice of American cheese. Broil in the oven until the cheese has melted.
- Finish and serve: Spread an additional 1 tbsp. (16g) of sauce on the top bun. Add pickles, if desired. Place the top bun on the assembled burger and serve immediately. For extra crunch, consider broiling the buns before assembling. Enjoy!
