Description

These M&M’s Marshmallow Dream Bars are a delightful no-bake treat combining creamy peanut butter, melted semi-sweet chocolate and butterscotch chips, mini marshmallows, and colorful M&Ms. Perfect for a quick and fun dessert, these bars are rich, chewy, and bursting with flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Mixture

  • 12 oz package semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 11 oz package butterscotch chips
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter

Mix-ins and Topping

  • 10.5 oz bag mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup M&Ms

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Baking Dish: Line a 9×13 inch baking dish with non-stick foil, ensuring the foil extends over the edges for easy removal later. Set aside while you prepare the mixture.
  2. Melt Chocolate Mixture: In a large microwave-safe container, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and creamy peanut butter. Microwave on high heat in 30-second intervals, stirring thoroughly between each interval, until the chips are fully melted and the mixture is smooth and homogeneous.
  3. Add Marshmallows: Stir the mini marshmallows into the melted chocolate and peanut butter mixture until they are fully coated and evenly distributed throughout.
  4. Transfer to Baking Dish: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly to cover the base.
  5. Add M&Ms Topping: Sprinkle the cup of M&Ms evenly over the top of the mixture, then press down lightly with the back of a spoon or your hands to ensure they stick into the surface.
  6. Refrigerate to Set: Place the baking dish in the refrigerator and chill for about 2 hours, or until the bars are firm and set.
  7. Serve: Once set, remove the bars from the dish using the foil overhang, cut into 36 pieces, and enjoy.
  8. Storage: Store any leftover bars in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator for longer freshness.

Notes

  • Use non-stick foil or parchment paper to make removing bars easier.
  • If your microwave does not have a turntable, rotate the container by hand between intervals for even melting.
  • You can substitute crunchy peanut butter for creamy if desired, but creamy melts smoother.
  • For a different nut butter flavor, almond or cashew butter work well too.
  • Press the M&Ms gently to avoid crushing them but ensure they stick to the bar surface.
  • Let the bars come to room temperature briefly before cutting for cleaner slices.
