Potato Cheese Dough
- 2 medium yellow potatoes, 500g
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded, 100g
- 2/3 cup cornstarch, 100g
Deep Frying
- 1 litre vegetable oil or canola, peanut
Instructions
- Making the potato cheese dough – Peel and chop potatoes into small chunks. Boil in salted water until tender, then mash. Add cheese and cornstarch, mix until dough forms.
- Cutting dough into strips – Divide dough, freeze, then slice into strips.
- Deep frying strips – Heat oil, fry strips until crispy and golden brown. Drain on a wire rack.
Notes
- Cook in batches – Do not overcrowd the pot with potato sticks as they may stick together.
