Description

These crispy Potato Cheese Sticks are a delightful snack or appetizer that combines the creaminess of potatoes with the richness of cheddar cheese. Perfect for parties or as a fun snack for the family.

Potato Cheese Dough

  • 2 medium yellow potatoes, 500g
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded, 100g
  • 2/3 cup cornstarch, 100g

Deep Frying

  • 1 litre vegetable oil or canola, peanut

Instructions

  1. Making the potato cheese dough – Peel and chop potatoes into small chunks. Boil in salted water until tender, then mash. Add cheese and cornstarch, mix until dough forms.
  2. Cutting dough into strips – Divide dough, freeze, then slice into strips.
  3. Deep frying strips – Heat oil, fry strips until crispy and golden brown. Drain on a wire rack.

Notes

  • Cook in batches – Do not overcrowd the pot with potato sticks as they may stick together.
