Description

A delicious smoked sausage triple grilled cheese sandwich that’s quick and easy to make. It features marble rye bread, creamy cheeses, and smoky sausage grilled to golden perfection. Perfect for a satisfying and indulgent meal.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • Main Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. butter, softened
  • 2 slices marble rye bread
  • 6-inch piece of smoked sausage
  • Cheeses

  • 1/4 cup whipped cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup Gouda, shredded
  • 1/4 cup sharp cheddar, shredded

Instructions

  1. Prepare the bread: Spread one side of each slice of bread with a tablespoon of softened butter.
  2. Add the cheeses: On the opposite side of each slice of bread, spread 2 tablespoons of cream cheese, then evenly layer the shredded Gouda and sharp cheddar on top.
  3. Prepare and cook the sausage: Slice the smoked sausage into three lengthwise pieces and cook in a small skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes, or until heated through.
  4. Assemble the sandwich: Place the cooked sausage pieces on top of the cheese and close the sandwich, with the buttered sides of the bread facing outwards.
  5. Grill the sandwich: Using the same skillet, place the sandwich over medium heat. Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and crisp, and the cheese is melted.
  6. Serve and enjoy: Serve the sandwich immediately while it’s hot and cheesy.

Notes

  • For additional flavor, you can add a sprinkle of garlic powder or paprika to the cheese before grilling.
  • Ensure even cooking by pressing the sandwich gently with a spatula while it cooks.
  • Use a non-stick skillet for best results and easier cleanup.
