Main Ingredients
- 8 slices Sara Lee® Artesano Bread
- 4 tbsp butter, softened
- 8 slices cheddar cheese
- 1/2 lb ground beef, seasoned for tacos (leftovers work great!)
Vegetables
- 1 jalapeno pepper, diced
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1 avocado, peeled and sliced thin
For Dipping
- Sour cream
- Salsa
Instructions
- Prepare the bread: Butter one side of a slice of bread with the softened butter and place it butter-side down in a medium non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Add layers of ingredients: Lay a slice of cheddar cheese over the bread, then spoon 1/4 of the seasoned ground beef, 1/4 of the diced tomatoes, and 1/4 of the diced jalapeno peppers onto the cheese. Place 1/4 of the avocado slices on top of the layer, and add another slice of cheddar cheese.
- Top with the second slice of bread: Butter one side of another slice of bread and place it butter-side up on top of the cheese. Let it cook until the cheese starts to melt and the bottom bread slice turns golden brown.
- Flip and cook the other side: Carefully flip the sandwich and cook until the opposite side turns golden brown and the cheese is completely melted. Repeat the process for the remaining sandwiches.
- Serve: Serve warm with sour cream and salsa for dipping. Enjoy!
Notes
- Use leftover taco meat to save time and reduce waste.
