Ingredients

Units Scale

Turkey Burger Recipe (makes 6 large or 8 smaller turkey burgers)

  • 6 sesame seed or onion hamburger rolls

Garlic Aioli

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • Fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Caramelized Onions

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 large onions, peeled and sliced thin
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • Fresh ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the caramelized onions: Start by adding the butter and olive oil to a large skillet over medium-low heat. Once the butter is melted, add the sliced onions and stir to coat them in the butter and oil mixture. Season with kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper, and cook over low heat for about 30 minutes. Stir frequently to prevent burning. The onions will turn golden brown and caramelized when ready. Remove from heat, transfer to a bowl, and cover until ready to use.
  2. Make the garlic aioli: Combine mayonnaise, minced garlic, kosher salt, a pinch of fresh ground black pepper, dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl. Stir until completely mixed and let it sit at room temperature until ready to serve with the turkey burgers.
  3. Prepare and cook the turkey patties: Combine the ingredients for the turkey burger patties in a mixing bowl and shape them into 6 large or 8 smaller patties. Heat a large skillet sprayed with non-stick cooking spray over medium heat. Cook each patty for approximately 5 minutes per side, ensuring the turkey is fully cooked and no longer pink inside.
  4. Assemble the turkey burgers: To serve, place a cooked patty on a hamburger bun, top with garlic aioli and a generous portion of caramelized onions, then finish with the top bun. Enjoy!
