- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 4 tablespoons butter, cold and cubed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
For the Strawberry Glaze:
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled
- 2–3 cups powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat and prep: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 6-cavity donut pans.
- Combine dry ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Combine wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, beat eggs, sour cream, and vanilla.
- Combine wet and dry: Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix well.
- Fill donut pans: Transfer batter to a zip-top bag. Snip off a corner and pipe batter into prepared pans, filling each cavity about two-thirds full.
- Bake: Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Make glaze: Puree strawberries in a food processor. Add powdered sugar and blend until combined.
- Glaze donuts: Dip the tops of the cooled donuts in the glaze or brush the glaze over the tops. Allow the glaze to set before serving.
Notes
- You can make the donuts ahead of time and store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days.
