Description

Grandma’s Christmas Candy is a festive and easy-to-make treat perfect for holiday gatherings. Made with white chocolate, marshmallows, and colorful gumdrops, this no-bake candy combines creamy sweetness with chewy bursts of flavor, chilled to a delightful, bite-sized finish.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 (12 oz) bag white chocolate chips
  • 1 (10 oz) bag mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup red and green gumdrops or chewy candy, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the baking dish: Line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper and lightly grease it to prevent sticking. Set the dish aside for later.
  2. Melt the base mixture: In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the butter, white chocolate chips, and mini marshmallows. Microwave for 1 minute, then stir with a greased spatula to combine evenly. Continue microwaving in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until the mixture is completely melted and smooth.
  3. Cool and fold in candies: Let the melted mixture cool for about 1 minute to thicken slightly, then gently fold in the chopped red and green gumdrops or chewy candies to distribute them evenly without melting.
  4. Set the candy: Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Use a spatula to press it evenly into a flat layer. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight, allowing the candy to fully set.
  5. Slice and serve: Once chilled and firm, lift the candy out of the dish by lifting the parchment paper. Remove the paper and cut the candy into small, bite-sized pieces. Store the pieces in an airtight container for optimal freshness.

Notes

  • Use greased utensils to prevent sticking when stirring melted chocolate mixtures.
  • Make sure the mixture is not too hot when adding the gumdrops; otherwise, they may lose their shape.
  • Store leftover candy in an airtight container at room temperature or in the fridge for longer shelf life.
  • Feel free to substitute gumdrops with other colorful chewy candies for different flavors and textures.
  • Use parchment paper to make removal and slicing easier and to avoid mess.
