Description

White Chocolate Monster Munch is a delightful and easy-to-make sweet and salty snack mix featuring crispy Rice Chex cereal, crunchy pretzels, salted cashews, colorful M&M’s, and luscious melted white chocolate. This festive treat is perfect for parties, especially around Halloween or autumn, offering a fun combination of textures and flavors. Optionally, add sugar eyeballs for a spooky touch.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 8 ounces white chocolate
  • 4 ½ cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1 cup pretzels (sticks or snaps)
  • 1 cup cashews (salted recommended)
  • 1 cup M&M’s (autumn-colored or Halloween-colored preferred)
  • Sugar eyeballs (Wilton brand, optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt White Chocolate: Carefully melt the white chocolate in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth to avoid burning. Set the melted chocolate aside but keep it warm for easy drizzling.
  2. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine Rice Chex cereal, pretzels, cashews, and M&M’s, mixing them thoroughly to create an even base for the coating.
  3. Drizzle White Chocolate: Slowly drizzle the melted white chocolate over the combined ingredients in the bowl. Take care to add it gradually to ensure even coverage without clumping.
  4. Coat Mixture: Gently stir the cereal mixture with the white chocolate to coat all pieces evenly, being careful not to crush the pretzels or M&M’s.
  5. Cool and Set: Spread the coated mixture onto wax or parchment paper in an even layer. Allow it to cool completely and let the white chocolate set, which will firm up the coating.
  6. Break and Store: Once cooled and set, break the mixture into small, bite-sized pieces. Store the Monster Munch in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep it fresh and maintain texture.
